Smok "The Kick" Variable Wattage Mod Power Booster

Price:
$15.95
Brand:
Current Stock:

Description

The Kick by SmokTech is a power booster designed to work with any IMR Mod battery.  This means you are no longer stuck using your mechanical mod at the standard 3.7 volt battery output.  No more worrying about whether the resistance of your tank is too high or too low to work well with your mod.

It is easy to install and allows the user to adjust the wattage output anywhere between 5-12 watts.  Once installed it will automatically detect the resistance of your tank and adjust the voltage output to achieve the set wattage.

Will not fit in all devices.  Because of the length that it takes up inside the battery tube, when using a device designed for 18650 batteries you will need to use an 18500 battery when using The Kick.  Or if you have a telescoping mod you can increase the length of the tube to accomodate The Kick.

The kick has a small ground post on the side that much touch metal to function.  Therefore, The Kick is for use with metal tubed mods only with a maximum internal diameter of 19.5mm.

To use the Kick simply set it to the preferred wattage and place it on top of the positive terminal of your IMR battery. (You will want the dial facing UP)

  1. I don't know

Posted by Montana vapor on 16th Jun 2014

I don't know if it's me or it. I have two mech mods a R80 epipe and a mfs kk. I can get it to work sometimes but most times not. I know the spring loaded pin must make contact with the metal tube of these telescoping mods but it's hard to get this to happen with the single pin, it's hit and miss. I got frustrated with it and took it out. If it had a pin on both sides it would probably work without a problem.

  2. Nice Little Toy

Bought this because I prefer mechanical mods in size and use over most VV VW devices, with a small telescopic and this device, You can have a subtle VW devcie that nearly resembles the function of your protected mods. Would have rated higher, but device only supports VW up to 12. Would be better if chipsets would support VW up to 20 watts.

  3. Holy Cow

What a difference this thing made in my R80 mech epipe mod I bought here! Like night and day

  4. good but could be better...

Works fine except for the occasional hot hit. Markings on the adjustment would really help.

  5. Great addition to a mech

Posted by Jason Hart on 15th May 2014

I ordered this and my first mech mod, the Nemesis together and got them in a few days ago. Seems to work great, just a little unclear as to where on the dial the settings actually are, despite the tiny diagram on the top of the contact pin. Could be improved in that one particular area, but otherwise no issues. Worth it if you want good, strong hits all day long.

  6. An idea whose time has come

With so many of us using mech mods and sub ohming this device is a must have

  7. Good device

Posted by Joe on 27th Mar 2014

I have an old Bolt and alwaysliked the feel and function but it just didn't give me enough hit at 3.7V. I purchased a Kick to utilize it again. After a few tries I got it adjusted to where it gives me the hit I desire and brought my old Bolt back to a useful state.
Functional device at a reasonable price.

  8. It's a Kick

Posted by Ron on 15th Mar 2014

The previous reviewer thought it was a bad design. Apparently he hadn't thought of how such a device had to be designed to work inside a mechanical MOD.

The ground connection post is a better design than the original Evolve Kick but Smoktech should have put 2 in like the Kick 2 has because you will still get the misfire issue like the original kick.

Work great with IMR batteries. I tried it with ICR batteries and they just don't have the capability to work with the kick for more than a few puffs.

For the price this is a great device.

  9. Not so sure about this one

Posted by Unknown on 27th Feb 2014

Great idea but poor design IMHO. To adjust the wattage you need a small screwdriver. It is hard to tell which way to turn it to adjust it and there aren't any clear markings to let you know what wattage you are at. there are no instructions to help you out either. Its simple enough to put in the device but not to adjust it. I like the idea but am not thrilled with the design. sorry MFS
