The powerful Cuboid box mod from Joyetech is well-constructed, solid, and feels substantial in your grasp. It’s slim for an dual 18650 mod, but has a heft that speaks to its workmanship. The Cuboid’s advanced TCR functionality lets you fine-tune the chipset’s performance on a variety of temperature control coil materials. Temperature control coils, whether they are made of nickel, titanium, stainless steel or an alloy, all increase in resistance as they increase in temperature. This conductive property is known as the Temperature Coefficient of Resistance (TCR), and it varies greatly depending on the material being heated. Some temp control mods have preprogrammed TCRs for different materials and don’t allow any fine tuning, but the Cuboid lets you control how the chipset performs on Ni, Ti or SS as resistance and temperature rise.
Dual battery voltage monitoring is also standard on the cuboid, as is a firmware upgrade microUSB port (not for charging) and bright, informative horizontal display. The Cuboid matches up beautifully with Joyetech’s latest subohm tank, The Cubis, as well as a range of high-power capable subohm and temp control tanks, RTAs and drippers.
